About the Health Center...
The Health Center, sometimes known as “The Nurse’s Office”, is coordinated by an Illinois Certified School Nurse (ICSN) with the assistance of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and a health technician. We provide daily health care for illness, as well as coordinate emergency care for students and staff. Other available services include, but not limited to the following: vision and hearing screenings, counseling students with their personal health needs, medication coordination, recommendations for educational adaptations related to health conditions on an individual basis, act as a liaison between the school, students, parents, and physician regarding the student’s health status while under a physician’s care, assists families in using available community health resources, supervises compliance with physical and immunization regulations with the Illinois School Code and Illinois Department of Public Health, and maintenance of up-to-date cumulative health records, teaches CPR and First Aid Education for staff and coaches, and provides Blood Borne Pathogen Education and Prevention for staff.
